Government should patch-up Ganye Road – Archbishop Called
The Archbishop of the LCCN Most Rev Nemuel A. Babba called on the Federal and the Adamawa state government to do something urgently on the Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye road. He said this on Sunday 20th December, 2015 when he visited the area. The Church leader lamented that the road has been neglected to deteriorate to the level of its present stage. He said, “this is one thing that the government is expected to do urgently. The people of Ganye area have enormous contribution to the economy of the state and the country.” The archbishop said even if the only thing the government will do for the area now is the road he believe it will alleviate to a large extent the suffering motorists are facing on that highway.
Ganye area is the main supplier of food crops to the Adamawa state. Due the nature of agricultural activities in the area motorists have not stop plying the road despite its poor nature. Heavy vehicles go to Ganye every week to transport yams , cattle, maize beans and other farm produce to other places in Nigeria.
