Take Sacrament Seriously – Rev Danlami Simon
The District pastor of Kainji District in Jimeta Division
Yola Diocese Rev. Danlami Simon said Sacrament is very vital in the life of a
believer. He said this during a Sunday service at the District Headquarters in
LCCN Kofare on Sunday 7th of August 2016. Rev Simon charged church
members to partake in the sacrament of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.
“Baptism is very important because it is the only thing that signifies our
being Christians and it is for the cleansing of the original sin While Holy
Communion represents our continual fellowship in the body of Christ.”
The Clergy urged the members to ensure they do not exempt
themselves from partaking in the fellowship of the sacraments. “You are not
supposed to exempt yourself or your child from enjoying the benefit of the
sacrament. You don’t have to wait until you child grows up before you make him
a Christian. We take these sacraments for justification as children of God and
for sanctification in the body of Christ.”
He said that in other denominations there are more than two
sacraments but the Lutheran Church recognizes only two types of Sacraments. He
explained that as much as the other things considered as sacrament by some
denominations are equally important, the role of Baptism and Holy Communion
stood out.
