A visit to LCCN Aja in Lagos
The Lutheran today on 2nd of
August, 2015 worshipped at a suburb church in Aja in Lagos state. The Church
which is based in a temporary shelter and in a temporary settlement in the city
was founded to serve the population of northern Christians (mostly youths) who
went to seek a means of living in the city of Lagos. LCCN Ikeja District
founded the church few years ago. Dean Rev Pwanangba Jediton who is the Ikeja
District pastor went to the church on a priestly visit in order to fellowship
with the members of the congregation and also to administer the Holy Communion
to the communicants. It was on that day that a Student-Pastor who was in charge
of the congregation was attending his final Sunday service in the congregation
as he was to leave to go to Theological College of Northern Nigeria for Masters
of Theology programme. Dean Rev Pwanangba thanked the members of the congregation
for their support to the outgoing student-pastor and urged them to continue in
the vineyard of God as Children of God.
Pastor Nonyo Hassan said on behalf of his family
that he appreciated the love and commitment of the members of LCCN Aja. He told
the Lutheran Today that his
experience at the mission field was full of God’s mercies. “I thank God for
giving me the privilege to serve at this place. This is youth congregation we
have youths from various parts of Northern Nigeria who are members here. God
has been faithful to us. I thank them for supporting me and also for LCCN Ikeja
District and Abuja Diocese for giving me the opportunity to serve here. I wish
the church God’s grace and I know that they will continue to grow.”
