Shall Holma diocese convention

The Shall Holma diocese convention 2016 started on 7th April at Gombi with the theme: Fear not I am with you. (Isaiah 43:5) Opening the convention Bishop Dimga Jones Kadabiyu appreciated the diocese members for their commitment despite challenges.
He called on the divisions and districts to wake to the call of evangelising the nation. He called on the church to remain the salt and light of the world.
The Bishop particularly charged the pastors to revive the teaching of sound doctrine in the church and motivate spiritual growth.
He called on the church members to seek ways of creating wealth and not depend on salaries alone. He admonished the youths to be enterprising. "If you someone has more money, more knowledge and some power over you you are his slave."
He charged the church to ensure that everyone is security conscious knowing fully what the diocese have faced in the hands of Boko Haram. "It is our responsibility yo protect our lives, as much we appreciate the role of the security agents it is our duty to ensure that we are safe."
The Bishop explained why the diocese must embrace the woman to woman school ran by the diocese. He called women both young and the elderly to come and take part in the learning opportunity accorded by the school. He announced to the congregation that the W2W school got support from a friend to the diocese and the centre has been completed.
Rt. Rev John S. Kenan was introduced as the guest speaker at the convention and Dean Rev Benedict Barde Cham as well as Rev Charles Muazu and Evangelist Maxwell Naphtali are other speakers.
The Bishop concluded by taking text from Deut 31:6.
