Bonotem Diocese will be a shining example in LCCN – Rev. Habila Istifanus
Rev Habila Istifanus the founder of the Justice Peace and Reconciliation Movement (JPRM) a Non-Governmental Organization with its international headquarters in Gurum said LCCN in Chamba land will continue to wax stronger and that the Bonotem Diocese will surpass other diocese in the church in the nearest future. He made this declaration at the reception organized in honour of the Bishop of Bonotem Diocese Rt. Rev. Jediel Nyenbeso by the Gurum communities.
Rev Habila said, “I want to call on all of us here to support the Bishop and support the diocese. I want to also reiterate that the work of the church is for the success of all the community. He must not fail. We will not allow him to fail. Bonotem Diocese is calling for the support every one of you.”
Rev Habila further stated how he was challenged by Rt. Rev. Briska Boyi to think of ways to develop the Diocese and the community. “I was challenged to think when I came to see Bishop Briska Boyi when he was elected Bishop in the Diocese. This challenge gave birth to the YOWDAS that today have trained thousands of youths who are empowered.” YOWDAS was created in collaboration with the Diocese in order to impact in the lives of youths and women in the area. Several youths have been trained and today most of them are gainfully employed in their various trades.
He urged the Bishop to be impactful in the entire land while he does his spiritual duty. “I call on the Bishop to change this land. Work for the development of this land.” The clergy pledged that he will work with the Diocese to create ways of getting scholarship for the youths to further educate themselves and contribute in the development of their communities.
