Walk in faith together – Most Rev Babba

The Arch Bishop of the LCCN Most
Rev Nemuel A. Babba admonished TEKAN leaders to be instrumental in promoting
peace and unity among the believers. He made his charge during the opening
service of the 2016 TEKAN General Assembly in Numan. The Archbishop said the
church has been living in times of persecution but the faith of the Christians
is not shaken. “There are people, who do not know the faith we are holding, or
they do not care to know the faith we are holding or they do not want us to
hold the faith we are holding. But we are going to continue holding on to it
because we know is the truth.” The Archbishop said the church can be hated but
let it not be the hater, “We may be hated but we shall not be the hater, we can
be confronted with lack of peace but we must not be the cause for lack of peace.”
He encouraged church leaders to keep faith and support one another in the “good
fight of faith.”
The archbishop charged all TEKAN
member churches to “get deeper in faith and be more stubborn in prayers” as it
is the only way out. “If the church would collapse because of troubles of the
world we could have gone since. We will not go and look for trouble or disturb
other people because of what they believe, because that is not our teaching.
Our teaching is to hold on to what we have and to walk together in faith.” Said
the Church leader.
The archbishop expressed his joy
for the gathering and prayed the delegates and church leaders will have
fruitful deliberations at the assembly and each of them will return home with
joy.
