Lutheran Seminary KINGDOM HALL destroyed by fire

One of the singles students’ male Hostels of the
Bronnum Lutheran Seminary Mbamba popularly known as Kingdom Hall was burnt to
ashes; the fire incident occurred on 25th December 2015 when students were on
Christmas break. According to Rev. Buntausa Amos Sunday the director of works
of the Seminary, the fire outbreak occurred around 12 midnight and he stated
that the fire outbreak was due to electrical fault.
Speaking
to the Lutheran Today the registrar of the Seminary Mr. Francis Jaimu (JP)
confirmed that the fire incident was reported by a close neighbour to the
hostel. The Registrar also attributed the course of the outbreak to an
electrical fault. He said, “11 double-bung beds of 22 students were burnt to
ashes. The students also lost other belonging in the inferno. Their theological
books, their cooking utensils, and other things. Altogether property worth
millions of naira was gutted by the fire. Not a single item was recovered from
the Hostels” he said. The Seminarians have since resumed studies and are
managing the limited available facilities pending the time the institution
would be able to renovate the burnt building. It could be recalled that earlier
last year the hostel of the students of Bronnum Junior Seminary was also gutted
by fire. The
registrar called on all students to be cautious in dealing with electrical appliances
in the Hostels, he advised that they should switch off light, turn off fans
whenever they are going out even for lectures. He also appeal to well
meaningful and patriotic individual to come to the aid of the Seminary by
assisting her get another hostel block to accommodate the students so affected
.
The student union president Rev
Polycarp Nunyi Akacha also plead to the seminary authority to look into the
plight of the students by assisting them in replacing some of the losses that has
been suffered he also call on the student to take it as an act of God, and to
cooperate with the seminary authority by adhering to all rules and regulations
in living a good life in the community.
In a
similar development the store tent of the LCCN convention in Demsa was
destroyed by fire. According the report filled in by the Director of Subgroups
in the LCCN Rev E.C Voma, the fire incident was as a result of a burning bush
in the nearby vicinity. The security men on the premises said they saw the fire
and went to apprehend the children that set the fire in the bush but before
they could return the convention store tent was burnt. In the tent over 800
plastic chairs and other items were destroyed by the fire.
