LCCN women fellowship outreach
The national body of the LCCN women fellowship under the leadership Mrs. Mary Solomon embarked in an outreach to Gongola Diocese and in Gyakan Division. This year’s outreach women embarked on yet another difficult area that involved long distance tracking and mountain climbing. The area covered lies between three states namely: Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe State.
The team arrived Baleifi in Lamurde Local government area at about 4:30pm on the 14th of January, 2016 in buses and trucks. They were received at the LCCN Baleifi by the representative of the Bishop of Gongola Diocese Rev Ferdinand Sanda the Stewardship Secretary of the Diocese. With him were other Pastors within the Gyakan Division.
The women gathered at the church at about 7pm and were addressed by the representative of the Bishop. In his address the Bishop welcome the women to Gongola Diocese and expressed his joy for their commitment to reach out to brethren in difficult terrains. He said, “The work of witnessing is the heart bit of God and He shall reward every one of you for making it a point of duty to come and do the work of the master.” The Bishop in his message said the women were lucky to find themselves in the field of evangelism as those who have not been able to make it will not partake in the great blessings that will come as a result of the outreach.
In his welcome message the Dean of Gyakan Division Dean Rev Filibus H. Adamu said he was pleased to see a large turnout of women to do what men have not been able to do. Dean Adamu expressed his joy and prayed that the women would find fulfillment in their effort to reach out to the unreached.
Addressing the women the LSO Director Rev. E.C. Voma who joined the group at the outreach said in LCCN the women have surpassed other subgroups in the work of evangelism and mission. He said the Archbishop whose office the LSO is representing is always pleased with the mission effort of the women fellowship. The LSO Director charged the women to keep the spirit alive and continue the good works despite all challenges.
Mrs Mary Solomon thanked the women for coming out in large numbers and also pleaded with them to do just what they have come to do in Gyakan Division. The leader of the Women in the Diocese also welcomes the women.
Among the officials of the Fellowship were the assistant Secretary and the treasurer of the group.
