The Gungiyan Mashaidin Almasihu is a group in the LCCN Bonotem Diocese that propagates the gospel of salvation through ministration of songs using the Kalangu (talking drum) and Shantu (calabash horn). This group although is not recognized by LCCN General Council as one of its sub-groups but have been operating under different names in different dioceses. They have same or similar activities in all the dioceses. Their pattern of music and songs is unique and widely acceptable by most northerners. Mashedi was founded in Bonotem Diocese by Brother Ibrahim Bristone Barkindo at LCCN Cathedral Ganye on 13th June, 2003. Ibrahim Bristone who founded the group happened to have lived most of childhood and early youthful age among the Hausa/Fulani. Having associated with their typical culture and mode of music he introduced the Kungiyan Mashaidin Almasihu group. He chooses to use the instruments well known to the Hausa Fulani so as to evangelize to them.
