Archbishops charged Pastors to uphold Lutheran teachings
The Archbishop during the first Bi-annual General Council held in Numan on May 21 and 22 said the pastors in LCCN must ensure that the teachings and Doctrine of church is not tempered with. He made the charge in relation to what some pastors have resorted doing in the church. They are said to be bringing in the church worship some non-Lutheran practice
s that does not have any scriptural backing. According to the Archbishop, “the Church will not take it lightly with any Pastor found doing what has not been accepted or approved as a mode of worship. If you have anything new to introduce it must pass through the proper channel and when it is approved we will adopt.” The Archbishop stated that if a pastor is not comfortable with the liturgical order of the church and is feeling compelled to do something new or different such pastor may submit his/her resignation and go to start a church where he will practice freely.
It was observed that some pastors are engulfed into some kind of dramatized worship and sensational presto that is synonymous with some new generation churches where spirituality is measured by some temporary euphoria and emotional display contrary to the Lutheran liturgical solemn worship and fellowship.
